Greg Hemmings & Dave Veale in the Boiling Point Podcast Studio during a recent live session.
It’s been almost two years and 82 recorded conversations since Greg Hemmings and I started hosting guests for the Boiling Point Podcast. I’ve always been a fan of talk radio – I prefer listening to conversations – like Mike & Mike, on ESPN or Coaches Corner. While I enjoy listening I’ve also enjoyed being on the other side of this – the microphone side.
Boiling Point is a podcast for the ever-evolving entrepreneur and forward-thinking pioneer. Our show is meant to inform and inspire positive change in businesses and in the world. Our interviews with leaders revolve around their experiences and the moments that have shaped their careers.
Both my co-host Greg Hemmings and I recognized that we were talking to really cool people every day – Greg through his film making adventures while my interactions with executive coaching clients and through my Leadership Unleashed column.
We came to the conclusion that we wanted to have interesting conversations together – and share them! Why not? We launched our businesses at the
Greg suggested we do something different – no surprise there -he wanted to try podcasting. The real driver for doing this was to tap into our networks to learn from what others are doing. That’s exactly what podcasting has done for us.
Fast forward 2 years. Now, we’re getting a little more organized in our approach. We have people regularly following the podcast and dozens of people a month are reaching out and showing interest in being involved. We’re getting great response from our listeners – on Facebook and LinkedIn, through email, even on the street!
The podcast is connecting us (and our listeners) to the world. I haven’t given one thought to not doing it – it’s just one of those things you do. It’s exhausting on the days we record in the studio (generally we record 4-6 podcasts back to back) but it’s really fun to spend the afternoon with Greg and our interesting line-up of guests.

It’s been a great ride. Even from the first few podcasts that we recorded in our original, overheated podcast booth (hence, the name of the podcast), we had no idea how many guests we’d talk to or how long we’d continue the weekly podcasts. So, here we are, almost 2 years later, with a long and growing list of fascinating entrepreneurs to speak to and with even more excitement than ever to be in the recording studio. The Dragon’s Den recently put us on their Top 8 Must Listen Podcasts for Entrepreneurs last year. That was huge.
As we approach the two mark, it seems a perfect time to take a look back at the Top 10 Boiling Point Podcast guests …according to the total number of downloads: (a great place to start listening, if you aren’t already a subscriber)
